What is Special Education?
It is the education that is carried out in environments suitable for the disability and characteristics of individuals with disabilities, with educational programs and methods developed by experts with the necessary experience and equipment in this field in order to meet the educational needs of individuals who develop differently.
What is the Purpose?
The main goal is to enable these individuals to fulfill the roles and responsibilities and developmental tasks expected of them by society as a result of all the education provided. In this direction, an assessment is made depending on the age and condition of the individual with special needs, and as a result of the developmental assessment, the individual is supported at points where the individual is behind his/her age in cognitive, social, fine-motor, gross-motor, physical, self-care and emotional development.
At what age should I start special education?
There is no age forspecial education. Starting as early as possible is a factor that will positively affect the rate of progress of the individual in every aspect. It is very important to be consistent. In some cases, it is a process that should continue from birth to adulthood.
How long does it take?
The intensity and duration of the work should be decided by the specialist according to the condition and level of the incoming child.
